Black Renaissance Rapier
Originating in Renaissance Spain and quickly spreading to the rest of Europe, the rapier did occasionally see military use, but historically was used by civilians for self-defence, duelling, and, of course, fashion. Rapiers were a status symbol, demonstrating nobility or gentlemanly status and as such they often had very complex, intricate and highly decorative designs.
This rapier features a classic swept hilt design with a black finish and steel coiled grip, with a long blade that tapers to a needle-like point with black sheath. A fantastic display addition for any collector's armoury.Â
Approximate specifications:
Full Length: 110cm
Blade Length: 95cm
Materials: Stainless steel
